Application for Patent
To file an application for patent for invention in Lao PDR, the applicant please provides us with the following information and documents:
- Full name, address and nationality of the applicant;
- Full name, address and nationality of inventor(s);
- Title of the invention;
- A certified copy of priority documents, if priority right is claimed under the Paris Convention;
- Certified documents (i.e. Deed of Assignment) certifying legitimate right of the applicant to file the application for patent for invention, if the applicant’s rights to file the applicant is assigned or derived from others;
- A copy of Specification of invention with Claims and Abstract in English;
- A copy of drawings (if any);
- A copy of a search report of invention issued by any patent office of foreign country or by relevant International Organization (if any). In case of a search report, which shall not be attached with the application, the Lao Intellectual Property Office shall coordinate with any patent office of foreign country or any relevant International Organization but the entire expenditure shall be covered by the applicant;
- A notarized Power of Attorney executed by the applicant in favor of Bizconsult Co., Ltd.
Annuities
We can represent patent holder/owner to pay annuities to the Lao Intellectual Property Office. To do this, patent holder/owner please provides us with the following information on the patent: patent number and granting date, name and address of patent holder/owner, priority date and annuity year.
